Touchstone Energy Cooperative "Green Goal"

Stopping energy leaks is a lot easier than you think. It doesn't require a lot of time or a lot of money. Here are a few tips from your local electric cooperatives…the energy experts.

Every day, your local Touchstone Energy Cooperatives are exploring new ways to capture the power of renewable energy. By using wind power, hydropower and biomass energy sources, we can serve your communities with resources that won’t run out. We believe it’s important to do the hard work today so our kids can look forward to a cleaner, brighter future.

In 2005, your local Touchstone Energy cooperatives set a voluntary renewable energy goal to provide you with 10 percent of your electricity from renewable sources by the year 2010. We’ve made great progress in reaching our goal.

In eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota, our member-owners receive approximately 8 percent of their energy from wind turbines located throughout the region. Over 30 percent of our power supply in this same area comes from renewable hydropower generated from federal dams on the Missouri River.
