In 2005, your local Touchstone Energy cooperatives set a voluntary renewable energy goal to provide you with 10 percent of your electricity from renewable sources by the year 2010. We’ve made great progress in reaching our goal.
In eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota, our member-owners receive approximately 8 percent of their energy from wind turbines located throughout the region. Over 30 percent of our power supply in this same area comes from renewable hydropower generated from federal dams on the Missouri River.
